Reverend Heidi Koschzeck, Minister
Heidi is a NorthWestern Canadian, having lived in four western provinces and two territories. After two years at Lester B Pearson College of the Pacific in Metchosin, she completed her undergraduate degree in Religious Studies at Augustana University College. Her Master of Divinity comes from Vancouver School of Theology. Heidi was ordained in 1998. She is a cat and dog lover, and you will likely meet Megan, her Brittany Spaniel, around the church. Hobbies are singing, reading, walking, travelling, and watching BBC mysteries.
Tim Olfert, Music Director
Tim Olfert has been the Music DIrector at Gordon United Church since 2003, but has spent his entire life making music in church. It’s hardly surprising, since he comes from a family of church musicians and music educators. Tim’s extensive training and experience in classical and jazz piano, liturgical organ, singing, accompanying and choral direction are put to good use at Gordon United. Tim deeply values the rich tradition of the music of the church, but also loves to mix in new and different styles wherever possible, even composing his own music for the congregation on occasion. Weekly Wednesday choir rehearsals are full of uplifting music-making, laughter and fellowship — which seems to be a good recipe, since Gordon United boasts one of the largest regular choirs in Victoria Presbytery!
Hazel Cameron, Office Administrator
Hazel Cameron comes to the Gordon United Church with a wealth of experience in offices. She ran a library/research center for more than 7 years, taught bibliographic instruction at several universities and acted as a business librarian. Her strengths are in organization, and since her arrival has been busy sorting out the office and organizing it more efficiently. She holds a MBA, MLS and BA. She moved to Vancouver Island as a child, and although she worked in the US for more than 18 years, she is happy to be back.
